Procedure & Recovery
Dr. Popowich performs breast augmentation with the patient under general anesthesia at a local surgery center. He will follow the treatment plan he worked with you to develop, carefully making incisions, creating the pocket, and placing the implant. Once the procedure is complete, your incisions have been closed, and you are completely recovered from anesthesia, you will be sent home with a friend or loved one to help with your care.
There will be some temporary discomfort and swelling after breast augmentation. By allowing yourself time to rest, taking pain medication as needed, and carefully following Dr. Popowich's instructions for recovery, you can ensure that discomfort and swelling will fade as quickly as possible. It is typically several days to a week before women resume work and several weeks (about 6) before strenuous exercise can be resumed. When your recovery is complete, you'll be able to enjoy your beautiful new breasts.
