Meet Dr. Popowich
Dr. Yale S. Popowich was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA the youngest of 3 children. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College in New York City in 1986. His pathway to medicine was unorthodox, having worked in the independent film business for 6 years prior to embarking on becoming a physician. During that time he had the privilege of working on such films as "A Room with a View," "Salaam Bombay," "Drugstore Cowboy" and "Stop Making Sense."
His appreciation for the arts combined with his love of medicine made a career in plastic surgery a natural fit for him. He returned to Philadelphia to obtain his medical degree at the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann University School of Medicine in 1998, and went on to complete his general surgery training at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA in 2004. He completed his residency training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Oregon Health & Sciences University in 2006. A plastic surgeon serving the Portland area, Dr. Popowich is certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery.

Dr. Popowich's practice covers the entire breadth of plastic surgery including cosmetic breast surgery, body contouring, liposuction, facial cosmetic surgery and hand surgery. In particular, Dr. Popowich devotes a large part of his practice to patients with breast cancer who will be undergoing mastectomy, thus requiring his reconstructive skills. As a cancer survivor himself, he works closely with each patient to help her attain her goals in a safe, caring way.
His interests include a strong passion and commitment to the arts, their children's school, running, tennis and the outdoors. He and his wife Tina have been married for 18 years and have two boys, Harry and Julian, ages 6 and 9. They are also the proud parents to Winston and Clementine, their two English bulldogs.
